China Baowu presses the “fast forward button” for carbon reduction

China’s Baowu Global Green and Low-Carbon Innovation Research Base-Bayi Iron and Steel, a new green and low-carbon smelting process-the hydrogen-rich carbon cycle blast furnace pilot project is undergoing the second phase of construction. After the entire project is successfully tested, It can greatly increase the utilization factor of smelting furnaces and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 30%. This also provides China’s Baowu program for global green and low-carbon smelting.

Not only in Bayi Iron and Steel, but the entire Baowu of China is speeding up project operations and actively carrying out research on low-carbon metallurgical technologies such as carbon avoidance and carbon utilization. During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, China Baowu’s development has jumped to a new level, achieving a historic leap in crude steel production of 100 million tons per year, and both operating income and total profit have reached record highs, which also gives China Baowu the confidence to be in China The steel industry took the lead in proposing carbon emission reduction targets.

In order to achieve this goal, China Baowu is speeding up technological research, vigorously promoting green and low-carbon development, green steel boutique manufacturing, and supporting green development with smart manufacturing.
