In May, the demand for steel continued to be weak, it was difficult to destock, and the price of steel fell weakly. The steel market in June was still full of ups and downs, and the short-term steel price may fluctuate.
1. The national average daily output of crude steel in April was 3.0927 million tons, an increase of 8.6% from the previous month
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, the national crude steel production in April was 92.775 million tons, down 5.2% year-on-year; pig iron production was 76.778 million tons, flat year-on-year; steel production was 114.827 million tons, down 5.8% year-on-year.
From January to April 2022, the national crude steel output was 336.146 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.3%; the pig iron output was 280.301 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%; the steel output was 426.824 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%.
In April, the national average daily output of crude steel was 3.0927 million tons, an increase of 8.6% from the previous month. 2. From January to April, the national apparent consumption of crude steel was 324 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.0%
According to data from the Bureau of Statistics and the General Administration of Customs, in April 2022, the national crude steel output was 92.775 million tons, the net export of steel was 4.021 million tons, equivalent to a net export of 4.189 million tons of crude steel, and the net import of billets and ingots was 249,000 tons. The observed consumption was 88.84 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%.
From January to April 2022, the national crude steel output was 336 million tons, the net export of steel was 13.982 million tons, equivalent to 14.565 million tons of crude steel (the steel was converted at 0.96), the net import of billets and ingots was 2.768 million tons, and the apparent crude steel was 2.768 million tons. Consumption was 324 million tons, down 9.0% year-on-year.
3. The average daily output of steel bars, wire rods and medium-thick and wide steel strips in April hit a new high in the year
In terms of steel varieties, from January to April 2022, my country’s steel output was 427 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%. Among them, the output of steel bars was 75.828 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.6%; the output of wire rods was 45.214 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.9%.
The output of cold-rolled sheet was 13.833 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%; the output of medium-thick and wide steel strip was 61.419 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%; the output of welded steel pipe was 16.921 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%.
In April 2022, the average daily output of steel bars, wire rods, medium-thick and wide steel strips was 685,000 tons, 415,000 tons, and 552,000 tons, an increase of 27,000 tons, 16,000 tons and 26,000 tons respectively from the previous month.
The average daily output of cold-rolled sheet and welded steel pipe was 115,000 tons and 160,000 tons, a decrease of 28,000 tons and 8,000 tons respectively from the previous month.
4. In April, the average daily output of crude steel in various regions rebounded from the previous month
From January to April 2022, the crude steel output in North China was 106 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%; the crude steel output in East China was 104 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.7%.
The output of crude steel in Northeast China was 32.316 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3%; the crude steel output in Central China was 33.257 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%.
Crude steel output in South China was 24.608 million tons, down 4.0% year-on-year; crude steel output in Southwest China was 20.622 million tons, down 15.9% year-on-year; crude steel output in Northwest China was 15.645 million tons, down 0.6% year-on-year.
