Characteristic for 1025 Steel /S25C:

1025/S25C is actually a kind of low-carbon steel. This kind of steel not only has a high melting point but is also easy to be oxidized. It also has good welding performance and also has a certain hardness and strength.

High weldability and cold strain plasticity, medium machinability, poor hardenability, and hardenability. Good strength and toughness after quenching and low-temperature tempering. No tendency to temper brittleness.

Scope of application of 1025/S25C:

It is generally used to manufacture hard stamping parts, small forgings, and machining small parts such as washers, pin shafts, bolts, nuts, etc. with small loads in heavy and medium-sized machinery; After carburizing or carbonitriding, friction plates, piston pins, and unimportant gears can be manufactured; After normalizing treatment, it can be used as steel for pressure vessel forgings at – 20~475 ℃. Welded parts, hot forged parts, and hot stamped parts are used as wear-resistant parts after carburizing.

AISI 1025 Steel/S25C Steel

Applications:

Welding and cold strain have high plasticity and no tendency to temper brittleness. Under normal circumstances, it is mainly applicable to the manufacturing of stamping parts, small forgings and some machined parts, nuts, etc. in heavy and medium-sized machinery that do not meet the requirements!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is S25C?

S25C is the steel specified in JIS G4051 (carbon steel for mechanical structure).

The carbon steel used for mechanical structure is called SC material. It is made of killed steel under the same control as alloy steel, with high quality.

Among them, S25C, as a low carbon steel without heat treatment, is the material with the highest carbon content and excellent quality.

It is specially used for machine parts requiring reliability.

It is also very marketable, so it is relatively easy to obtain the required size.

The differences between 1025/S25C & Q235:

1025/S25C is widely used in railways, bridges, and various construction projects.

Q235 ordinary carbon structural steel is also called an A3 plate. Ordinary carbon structural steel plain plate is a kind of steel material. Q represents the yield limit of this material, and the following 235 refers to the yield value of this material, which is about 235MPa.

1025/S25C carbon structural steel is a high-quality carbon steel, ensuring chemical composition and mechanical properties, and low impurity content. Q235 is an ordinary carbon structural steel, with low impurity content and higher impurity content. It only ensures mechanical properties, and generally cannot be used as heat treatment steel.
